In September 2009 i bought a defective iRobot Roomba 420 cleaning robot
from a friend for just 100 SEK. The battery doesn't work and one of the
small sensitive brushes was broken. However I mounted a Lithium ion battery
(14.8 V, 2600 mAh) from a notebook computer on top of the cleaning robot,
and voila it works! The battery was charged by my charger regulator (see
the references).
As you can see from the video the Roomba robot moves quite "intelligent"
around in my kitchen. This is a quite old version of the robot and it can
be assumed that the newer versions behave even smarter.
Here is a quite long video of the Roomba robot cleaning my kitchen. It was
simply taken with my HP digital camera. The video has not the best quality,
but is still OK. The blue box on the floor acts as an obstacle for the robot.
The robot moves quite "intelligent" and moves around the box when it finds it.
